Val Jones

Val Jones

This area was built in memory of Valerie Jones, a dedicated supporter of the sanctuary. Valerie Jones helped rescue fifteen feral cats living beneath the Arthur Laing Bridge and became a close friend of the sanctuary community. Following her passing from ALS, her family generously funded the construction of this building. Today, Val Jones is home to many of our cats living with FIV. Because these cats require a special urinary diet, visitors are asked not to feed them treats. FIV is most commonly spread through serious bite wounds, so most of the cats here are male. Thanks to neutering and a calm environment, they live happily together and are some of the friendliest residents you’ll meet.
