Hauser House is named in honour of Elizabeth Hauser, a generous cat lover whose family’s support made its renovation possible. Although this building isn’t open to visitors, it plays an essential role in the sanctuary. New arrivals spend time here becoming accustomed to their new surroundings, cats recovering from surgery receive extra care, and staff closely monitor those needing medical attention. The larger enclosures also provide enough room for volunteers to spend time socializing with cats, helping many once-feral residents gradually learn to trust people.
